Multiple Literacies and Goal Setting
Students will be able to demonstrate how they marshal/leverage their multiple literacies (e.g. speaking, listening, reading, multilingual writing, translating, multimodality, etc.) to support their writing processes.
Reflection
In the first major writing assignment, the literacy snapshot essay I was able to evaluate the impact different languages had on my personality and the way I receive information.

By completing this essay, I had the ability to reflect on the ways different language such as English and Spanish shaped the way I thought and perceived feedback that I received throughout my life. Different languages contain different ways of delivering information and various phrases that are used unique to that language. Additionally, this has an effect in the way each language is used. While a phrase may be commonly used in Spanish, directly translating the phrase from Spanish to English could completely change the meaning.

Often the goals that emerged from my childhood had to do with accurately using both English and Spanish and excelling in both. I had goals to do well in my English classes and still communicate with my family.

This essay helped me understand how different languages impact the way feedback is received and the way writing is varied especially within two different languages.
