Rhetorical Situation Statement

I am currently a first-year here at the University of Central Florida. My name is Amanda Tirado, and I am a psychology major. I find this field of study to be incredibly interesting and look forward to continuing my journey in learning more about this career. This ENC 1102 course has proven to be a great help in establishing a firm foundation in writing as my time progresses here at UCF. 

 

The purpose of this ePortfolio is to showcase the work I have done throughout this ENC 1102 course. Additionally, this work will be used to reflect on the student learning outcomes of this course and ways in which they have been achieved. This ePortfolio is accessible to the general public and can be used by all to learn or understand many of the foundations of this course and ways in which it is applicable in the real-world and everyday life. Not only can this be seen by the public and indicate my progression, but it also allows me to assess my own skills and learning development. 

 

I believe this ePortfolio does a great job in displaying my work and tying it back to the student learning outcomes of ENC 1102. I have not only outlined the major assignments within my time in this course, but I have included process work that proved to play a significant part in the achievement of the student learning outcomes. Without the completion of each assignment and activity in this course, my ability to attain and accomplish the student learning outcomes would have been more difficult. This ePortfolio presents many different portrayals of my writing and can be a map to the ways in which my writing has improved. Being able to format and create this ePortfolio has allowed me to compile all of my work in a neat and pleasing way so it can always be looked back on. 

 

Overall, this course has been a great experience and has allowed me to continue my academic journey. The ePortfolio is a way for me to ponder on my own skills, writing, and the progress I have made since my start here at UCF. It also allows others to be able to analyze and create their own opinions on my experience and advancement. The student learning outcomes constantly referred to within this presentation are heavily relied upon and are a base to this course. This ePortfolio has been enjoyable to create and is a great representation of my work and new abilities that I have had the opportunity to develop within my time here.
